If only my favorite steward was saying this over the airplane’s PA system! I made it back from San Francisco last night. I just returned from church and I will be trying to get things unpacked, laundry washed and then run to the grocery store. Let’s just say that the weather was beautiful, there was too much to do, I took over 1,200 photographs, and lost 3 pounds. Oh, and one minor thing…..the tour bus company left me in Yosemite Park.
I will be first catching up on everyone else’s blogs before posting. I will probably post over the course of a few days, but wanted to share with you one of my best night photos of the Golden Gate Bridge taken from the Marin Headlands. The photo may be a bit “overexposed” as the lights on the bridge are quite bright, but it also brightens the lights of the San Francisco skyline in the background. It was also that night I took a big fall, and luckily two minutes prior I decided to walk the path back to the car that was not alongside the cliff. I never thought I would say this, but it is so good to be back home.

Glad you’re back. Exceptional photograph. And you did it your very own personal self? Impressive.
Steven says: I by no means am an expert, but this latest camera I bought (Canon PowerShot A630) does just about everything for me. It’s amazing what a digital camera can do for you when you adjust the aperture and shutter speed. However, because of the slow shutter speed, a tripod was necessary.
The tour bus company left you in Yosemite?! Well, it could have been a worse place. Glad you made it back safely, though.
And 1,200 pictures? I thought 200+ was a lot…. I can’t wait to see them.
OK. So you’re back. You went from earthquake country to . . . earthquake country?
Really–welcome back!
after all, there is no place like it…
I am glad you are back, safe and sound.
Glad you had a great time. How interesting that you were in a place known for quakes, and one hits home, while you’re away. And while it sucks to get stranded, I can’t think of a cooler place to be stranded than Yosemite Park!
Very nice photo. I don’t think there are many more exceptional places to photograph than in the Bay Area. Happy re-entry to real life.
Glad to hear that you’re home safe and sound! And I can’t wait to hear about the Yosemite Park debacle!!!
Seems like no matter WHERE you go, there is no place like home!
Glad you had a safe and enjoyable trip!
Great photo. Welcome home. Oh my, I am looking forward to the details of your holiday.
Welcome back to reality. Look forward to chatting and seeing more pics. Glad you had a great time.
That is a gorgeous photo!! The bridge really looks golden! and I know the bridge is named for the area, not the color of the bridge.
I’m glad you made it safely back home. It sounds like there was some difficulty with that “safely” part! I look forward to hearing more details.
Welcome home! So glad your back. And I LERVE the pic. Can’t wait to see more.
WordPress is hot, btw. Why didn’t you force me over sooner?

Steven says: I only use force as a last resort!
I love the image you’ve posted here and am glad to see you back. I’m looking forward to seeing more images and stories of your journey soon!

Vacations are always nice, but ditto uro-spo, there is nothing like being home. Can’t wait to see the other pics, if they are as good as the one posted. Happy to have you back and for the ((((HUGS)))) you left…………
It just dawned on me after re-reading my last line and the comments of some of you how “A Friend of Dorothy-esque” I sounded.

Gorgeous photo!! (Don’t let the camera take all the credit, though!) Welcome home!
Glad you’re home safe and sound, Steven, but selfishly speaking, I’m sad you didn’t have more time in the Bay area! It was fantastic being able to meet you. Thank you for coming out to the East Bay (which IS a haul, even on BART) and joining us at our home.
I didn’t say, but you have the deepest and sexiest voice I’ve heard in a long time!
Be well.
Steven says: And here I thought my voice was so monotonous.
